Every time he leans against a volunteer’s leg, he shows that everything he has been through has not taken away his willingness to love again. Scout is an 11-month-old male Yorkshire Terrier with a watchful little face, a quick mind, and a habit of leaning against anyone who sits beside him. During nine weeks at the shelter, he has learned to walk beside a handler, wait at doorways, and return when called in a quiet, enclosed area. He enjoys gentle, supervised games with children, and his playful terrier confidence returns whenever someone gives him time to feel secure.
