Shelter Puppy. In need of a home!

Health History

Ellie’s puppy examination, deworming, fecal screening, and microchipping are complete, and her vaccinations and parasite prevention are current for approximately 12 weeks of age. Her puppy combination-vaccine series is underway, and her first leptospirosis and rabies vaccinations have been given, with no current illness recorded. She needs her next veterinary visit in 2–4 weeks for her next combination dose and second leptospirosis dose, with the combination series including a dose at 16 weeks or older and any additional doses determined by her veterinarian. Her remaining care includes a veterinarian-agreed spay plan, continued parasite prevention and screening, appropriately timed heartworm testing, growth and dental checks, future boosters, and transfer of her microchip registration.

Shelter Pup Story

Ellie arrived with an unwanted litter and spent her first night pressed against her siblings for warmth. Three weeks later, the others have found placements, and she sleeps with a soft toy where they used to curl up. Her temporary nursery placement is ending, the shelter’s puppy spaces are full, and the lack of an adopter or rescue placement puts her at high risk of euthanasia. She has barely begun discovering the world, yet the chance to grow up in a loving home is already slipping away. A puppy is waiting for a second chance before euthanization. Your small deposit opens the path to finding her, saving her, and bringing her home.

Shelter Pup Personality

Ellie is a 3-month-old female Yorkshire Terrier whose lively curiosity and eagerness to be close to people still shine after three weeks in the shelter. She already turns when her name is called, sits for a small reward, and is beginning to use a puppy pad, showing the quick little mind behind her fluffy face. During supervised visits with gentle older children, she happily follows their games before curling up nearby when she grows sleepy.

PupPath Helps Save Pups The Right Way...

PupPath Mission

I was also once looking for a dog

I wasn't just looking for an Otterhound puppy. I wanted to save one. I dreamed of giving him a warm home, a loving family, and the second chance he deserved. But I had no idea where to start. I spent countless hours searching hundreds of listings, calling shelters, and contacting breeders. Nothing. Not a single Otterhound pup.

Frustrated, I gave up searching for a while. Weeks later, I came across a post about an Otterhound puppy desperately needing a home. This was him. The puppy I'd been searching for. I rushed to the shelter, only to hear words I'll never forget. "I'm sorry. He's already been euthanized." My heart sank.

He could have had a home, a family, and a lifetime of love. If only I'd found him sooner. That's when I realized countless other dogs were facing the same heartbreaking possibility. I couldn't save him. But maybe I could help save others. That's why I created PupPath.

Yorkshire Terrier Puppy Stories

Ellie — Yorkshire Terrier

Once a man collapsed on a secluded trail, his Yorkshire Terrier pup ran toward the distant voices of other walkers. It barked, circled, and repeatedly looked back until they followed it to its owner, who was lying hidden beside the path, unable to call for help. Rescuers reached him in time, and when he finally woke up in the hospital, his first question was whether his dog was safe. At their reunion, the Yorkshire Terrier pup rested its head in his hands, and through tears the man whispered, “You went looking for help when I couldn’t even ask.” The Yorkshire Terrier pup is ready to protect you but it needs your protection first.

Ellie — Yorkshire Terrier

Within days of coming home, a Yorkshire Terrier puppy had become his owner’s constant companion and the children’s inseparable playmate. Whenever an argument grew loud, he would appear with his favorite toy, nudging a hand until someone paused to look at him. Those gentle interruptions became the family’s reminder to soften their voices, sit together, and listen instead of speaking over each other. One evening, watching his children cuddle beside their new Yorkshire Terrier friend, their father whispered, “You’ve only just arrived, and you’re already helping us take better care of each other.” The Yorkshire Terrier Puppy is ready to take care of you, but it needs you to take care of it first.

Ellie — Yorkshire Terrier

After an accident left his owner struggling to walk, a Yorkshire Terrier puppy began matching every slow step, pausing whenever the man needed to rest. Throughout the long recovery, it waited beside his owner’s chair and followed him from room to room, settling wherever they could remain close. When the children called the pup outside, it enjoyed their games, then hurried back to check on the person resting indoors. On the day they finally reached their old walking spot again, his owner sat down and held the Yorkshire Terrier pup, overwhelmed by the friend who had made every difficult step feel less lonely. A Yorkshire Terrier pup is waiting for you.
