Health History

His care plan still includes puppy vaccines through at least 16 weeks, rabies vaccination as locally required, parasite prevention and gentle brushing. By adulthood, he will generally weigh 20–40 pounds and stand 14–18 inches at the shoulder, with a typical 12–13-year lifespan. Checkups, deworming and vaccines due through 10 weeks have been completed; verify the records, noting that initial puppy shots usually start at 6–8 weeks. Review his parents' hip, annual specialist eye and recommended DNA tests alongside his own puppy eye examination, and ask the vet about MDR1 testing.

Their Story

After each little garden walk, he settles beside his breeder's boots as though another outing is certain to follow. The route is only a few yards long, yet he stops at the same smooth stone like a favorite landmark. Euthanization could take away every walk still ahead of him if his breeder cannot find him a placement as room for the growing litter runs out. His breeder continues those gentle outings while searching for a way to give him more than this brief beginning. One small deposit brings you closer to saving a pup from a death sentence and becoming the reason his next chapter is filled with love.

Pup Personality

He remembers interesting spots along a short garden route and pauses to inspect them again each time. At 10 weeks, he is practicing following a few steps beside a person, but a familiar stone or rustling plant can still interrupt his progress.

PupPath Mission

I was also once looking for a dog

I wasn't just looking for an Otterhound puppy. I wanted to save one. I dreamed of giving him a warm home, a loving family, and the second chance he deserved. But I had no idea where to start. I spent countless hours searching hundreds of listings, calling shelters, and contacting breeders. Nothing. Not a single Otterhound pup.

Frustrated, I gave up searching for a while. Weeks later, I came across a post about an Otterhound puppy desperately needing a home. This was him. The puppy I'd been searching for. I rushed to the shelter, only to hear words I'll never forget. "I'm sorry. He's already been euthanized." My heart sank.

He could have had a home, a family, and a lifetime of love. If only I'd found him sooner. That's when I realized countless other dogs were facing the same heartbreaking possibility. I couldn't save him. But maybe I could help save others. That's why I created PupPath.

Miniature American Shepherd Puppy Stories

Male Unnamed Pup — Miniature American Shepherd

Once a man collapsed on a secluded trail, his Miniature American Shepherd pup ran toward the distant voices of other walkers. It barked, circled, and repeatedly looked back until they followed it to its owner, who was lying hidden beside the path, unable to call for help. Rescuers reached him in time, and when he finally woke up in the hospital, his first question was whether his dog was safe. At their reunion, the Miniature American Shepherd pup rested its head in his hands, and through tears the man whispered, “You went looking for help when I couldn’t even ask.” The Miniature American Shepherd pup is ready to protect you but it needs your protection first.

Male Unnamed Pup — Miniature American Shepherd

Within days of coming home, a Miniature American Shepherd puppy had become his owner’s constant companion and the children’s inseparable playmate. Whenever an argument grew loud, he would appear with his favorite toy, nudging a hand until someone paused to look at him. Those gentle interruptions became the family’s reminder to soften their voices, sit together, and listen instead of speaking over each other. One evening, watching his children cuddle beside their new Miniature American Shepherd friend, their father whispered, “You’ve only just arrived, and you’re already helping us take better care of each other.” The Miniature American Shepherd Puppy is ready to take care of you, but it needs you to take care of it first.

Male Unnamed Pup — Miniature American Shepherd

After an accident left his owner struggling to walk, a Miniature American Shepherd puppy began matching every slow step, pausing whenever the man needed to rest. Throughout the long recovery, it waited beside his owner’s chair and followed him from room to room, settling wherever they could remain close. When the children called the pup outside, it enjoyed their games, then hurried back to check on the person resting indoors. On the day they finally reached their old walking spot again, his owner sat down and held the Miniature American Shepherd pup, overwhelmed by the friend who had made every difficult step feel less lonely. A Miniature American Shepherd pup is waiting for you.
