Health History

Her long ears and skin folds need regular care as she grows; typical adult expectations are 40–65 pounds, up to 15 inches at the shoulder and a lifespan of 12–13 years. Her 12-week veterinary checks, deworming and vaccine history require confirmation; puppy vaccinations generally start at 6–8 weeks. Request her parents’ eye exams and DNA results for thrombopathia, MPS I, Lafora disease and POAG, while arranging her own puppy eye check. Her remaining care includes boosters through at least 16 weeks, completing leptospirosis vaccination, locally required rabies vaccination, ongoing parasite prevention and weight monitoring.

Their Story

Your first photograph together might be a blur: one long ear, a nose too close to the lens, and you laughing behind the camera. A few years from now, that imperfect picture could mean more than any carefully posed portrait. It could mark the beginning of learning her little habits, celebrating small training successes, and making room for her in your daily life. Take the first step today. A small deposit opens the door to meeting her and beginning your journey toward bringing her home.

Pup Personality

At 12 weeks, she is fascinated by cameras and tends to shuffle closer just when someone thinks she is sitting still. She is learning to remain on a small mat for a few seconds, with frequent rewards and plenty of cheerful resets. When praised, she rolls onto her side and stretches one front leg toward the person beside her.

PupPath Mission

I was also once looking for a dog

I wasn't just looking for an Otterhound puppy. I wanted to save one. I dreamed of giving him a warm home, a loving family, and the second chance he deserved. But I had no idea where to start. I spent countless hours searching hundreds of listings, calling shelters, and contacting breeders. Nothing. Not a single Otterhound pup.

Frustrated, I gave up searching for a while. Weeks later, I came across a post about an Otterhound puppy desperately needing a home. This was him. The puppy I'd been searching for. I rushed to the shelter, only to hear words I'll never forget. "I'm sorry. He's already been euthanized." My heart sank.

He could have had a home, a family, and a lifetime of love. If only I'd found him sooner. That's when I realized countless other dogs were facing the same heartbreaking possibility. I couldn't save him. But maybe I could help save others. That's why I created PupPath.

Basset Hound Puppy Stories

Female Unnamed Pup — Basset Hound

Once a man collapsed on a secluded trail, his Basset Hound pup ran toward the distant voices of other walkers. It barked, circled, and repeatedly looked back until they followed it to its owner, who was lying hidden beside the path, unable to call for help. Rescuers reached him in time, and when he finally woke up in the hospital, his first question was whether his dog was safe. At their reunion, the Basset Hound pup rested its head in his hands, and through tears the man whispered, “You went looking for help when I couldn’t even ask.” The Basset Hound pup is ready to protect you but it needs your protection first.

Within days of coming home, a Basset Hound puppy had become his owner’s constant companion and the children’s inseparable playmate. Whenever an argument grew loud, he would appear with his favorite toy, nudging a hand until someone paused to look at him. Those gentle interruptions became the family’s reminder to soften their voices, sit together, and listen instead of speaking over each other. One evening, watching his children cuddle beside their new Basset Hound friend, their father whispered, “You’ve only just arrived, and you’re already helping us take better care of each other.” The Basset Hound Puppy is ready to take care of you, but it needs you to take care of it first.

Female Unnamed Pup — Basset Hound

After an accident left his owner struggling to walk, a Basset Hound puppy began matching every slow step, pausing whenever the man needed to rest. Throughout the long recovery, it waited beside his owner’s chair and followed him from room to room, settling wherever they could remain close. When the children called the pup outside, it enjoyed their games, then hurried back to check on the person resting indoors. On the day they finally reached their old walking spot again, his owner sat down and held the Basset Hound pup, overwhelmed by the friend who had made every difficult step feel less lonely. A Basset Hound pup is waiting for you.
